The story is originally from Forbes, and then carried by Rediff. This is a slideshow, and much better to view than the rediff text story, so I am linking to the original source. It is generic enough for us in India, so click on and watch some great illustrated stuff on how they fool us, and how we can fool them back! Join discussion...

Making a comeback, the Honda City sold 2,656 units in June as against 1,975 units of SX4. In May the SX4 had outnumbered City sales by about 162 units. Ford India has no intention to withdraw Ikon from the market, the Ford India's Vice-President-Marketing, Sales and Service, Mr Scott McCormack, has told journalists. The comment comes in the wake of rumours that Ikon would be phased out, which have appeared perhaps because the company has rationalised the portfolio and currently offers only one petrol and one CNG variant. Why are motorcycle sales in india nosediving?

inflated interest and the exit of financiers from certain high-volume but risky markets alone don’t quite justify the bumpy ride down south. Perhaps, the Brando-like attitude is changing and new riders would rather be safe than sorry. Or, is it more affordable four-wheelers with CNG and all? Maybe, more women in the workforce who’d rather prefer to scoot to work than thunder in on a bike. ET pulls up by nosediving motorcycle volumes to get one up on the phenomenon. Join discussion...
