Maltesh Ashrit has put up pictures of the Suzuki Splash that might be coming to India. The Splash might replace the Maruti Wagon R in India - if it comes here, that is. Take a look the pics, doesn't it look a bit too much like a arty-farty Suzuki Swift? :)

New Tata Sumo by Diwali 2007, based on Tata Sprint concept

Tata's aging work horse the Sumo has been serving the price sensitive cab market since 1994 but is due to be replaced by Diwali 2007. The new MUV will be based on Tata's TL Sprint pick up truck which was revealed at the Bologna Motor Show in 2006.
The Sumo replacement has been caught testing under camouflage by many. Unlike the Sprint, it won't be a pickup though.

The reason behind the Skoda's success in India first was the Skoda Octavia, the Octavia was a car that was reliable and people loved to drive with enormous space. But thus, time passes by and the design got a little old, the Skoda's next generation which is known as the Laura to us is a bit too costly, and the Skoda Octavia will get the face lift as a result of refreshing the cars to meet today's demands.

Mumbai Gridlocked – Increasing cars; shrinking roads

The number of cars on Indian roads is multiplying everyday, but the efforts to strengthen the infrastructure to support this growth are not enough to keep up. Delhiites are still lucky. Traffic situation in Delhi is better because of the presence of “Metro rail”. But other metros like Mumbai are literally gridlocked.

I could not make head or tail of this story. It is OK to play up a rumour; its okay to ask the company for clarification; its okay to still go ahead with the story as companies are always not forthcoming. But let the reader have a clue at the end of it! In this ET story, we hear about a new Ford small car for India; that it is the B402; its the Ka; its not the Ka, and we are none the wiser. Do print a good rumour if there is some substance to it, but let us have a little whiff of clarity, okay?

Is the Honda Civic Hybrid coming to India?

Thats the rumour. The Honda Civic is already quite popular in its class in India. The Civic Hybrid though will be priced exorbitantly, so sales would be very low indeed. The rumoured price for the Cicic Hybrid is Rs 20 lakh - that is 2 million rs! (Rs 40 = 1 USD). Definitely does not make sense. Read more details by clicking on the link above.

The i-CTDi badging you can clearly see at the base of the rear windscreen is a term coined by Honda for intelligent-Common-rail Turbocharged Direct Injection. The i-CTDi is the first diesel from Honda’s range worldwide, and debuted in the Accord. It has done duty across the range in the Accord, CR-V and Civic. Rumors were spread that the spy shots of a new Tata car was taken which was heavily disguised, and the member of WCF (WorldCarFans) forum thought it was the next generation Safari. The Tata Safari had been given a new engine recently, and has some quality issues. Is this really a Tata Safari? lets check out some pictures from the concepts of the past from Tata.
